This optional setup enhances paddle performance by adding lead tape for improved balance, a tackier grip with superior cushioning, and PVC electrical tape to increase edge guard durability.

Blue Electrical Tape for Edge Guard: Used instead of traditional edge guard tape due to its enhanced durability and resistance to wear.
Lead Tape on Sides: Applied to improve paddle balance and stability during play.
Lizard Skins Bat Tape: Chosen for its superior tackiness and extra cushioning compared to standard pickleball grip tape.
Installation Steps
- Remove Old Grip – Carefully peel off the existing grip tape from the paddle handle.
- Prepare New Grip Tape
Unroll the Lizzard Skins grip tape on a flat surface.
Cut it to match the length of the original grip.
Trim the tapered end to match the original shape for a clean fit. - Apply New Grip
Begin wrapping the new grip tape from the bottom of the handle, working your way up.
Once wrapped, cut off one-third of the electrical tape, leaving two-thirds intact (black or blue tape).
Use this piece to secure the top of the grip tape by wrapping it around the top of the handle. - Add Lead Tape for Balance
Measure and cut two 5-inch strips of lead tape.
Apply one strip to each side of the bat handle, starting 1 inch above the top of the grip and running upward. - Cover with Edge Guard
Use the blue electrical tape to cover the lead tape, securing it in place and adding a finished look.
